Disability@Work’s Kim Hoque addressed the FCDO’s celebration of the 15 th anniversary of the
United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities highlighting the stubbornly high
disability employment gap and the widening disability pay gap. He called upon attendees to work
together to map out a more inclusive future for disabled people.
The event in June sponsored by King’s Business School was attended by 200 Parliamentarians, civil
servants, diplomats, CEOs, D&I leads, charities, and disabled people’s organisations. Other speakers
included Tom Pursglove MP (Minister for Disabled People); Lord Levy; David Rutley MP
(Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Americas and Caribbean); and Susie Rodgers (gold
medal-winning Paralympian).
