DWP acknowledge no change in disability employment disadvantage 10 years on

Disability@work has long argued that the disability employment gap is a poor indicator of disability disadvantage (see links 1 and 2). Until now DWP has refused to acknowledge this. Using a Freedom of Information request, the Disability News Service (DNS) has received confirmation from DWP that most of the increase in the number of disabled people in employment results from more people reporting that they are disabled and the general increase in employment and further that it is not possible to attribute any of the increase to government policy.
