Kim raised the Disability Employment Charter, of which Disability@Work are founder members, with the committee, as well as discussing the effectiveness of government support for disabled entrepreneurs, supply-side measures including Individual Placement and Support and the Work and Health Programme, and his research with Nick Bacon on the limitations of Two Ticks/ Disability Confident.
Other witnesses were James Taylor, Scope; Dr Jenny Ceolta-Smith, Long Covid Support; and Jane Hunt, Association of Disabled Professionals.
The committee was chaired by Sir Stephen Timms MP, and other MPs in attendance included Shaun Bailey MP, Sir Desmond Swayne MP, Nigel Mills MP, Selaine Saxby MP, Chris Stephens MP, and Ben Spencer MP.
Fittingly, the evidence session was held on the first day of Disability History Month.
