Disability@Work held a meeting in February 2021 in collaboration with the All Party Parliamentary Group for Disability with the Cabinet Office Disability Unit and DWP officials to present its key proposals for the forthcoming National Strategy for Disabled People:
- mandatory disability employment and pay gap reporting
- reform to Disability Confident; the leveraging of government procurement
- the introduction of statutory rights for facility time for trade union Equality Representatives and Disability Champions
- the incorporation of disability prevalence-adjusted pay gap metrics into national level statistics on disabled people’s employment
The meeting was jointly chaired by Dr Lisa Cameron MP and Lord Shinkwin. Also in attendance, and offering valuable support for Disability@Work’s proposals, were representatives from the Business Disability Forum, Deloitte UK, Disability Rights UK, the Trades Union Congress, CIPD, and Scope.
