The disability@work submission (2019) to this second WHU consultation authored by Melanie Jones and Victoria Wass builds on the theme of data quality in relation to disability at the organisational level from their first submission.
Organisational monitoring of disability and disability-related gaps is the starting point for identifying and understanding disability disparities in the workplace and on evaluating the effects of policy and practice interventions. Reporting at the organisational level requires a lead from Government to ensure high quality meaningful and comparable information is collected by employers. Government support in the form of a clear and precise specification of what is meant by disability and how it should be measured and reported is needed.
