Lisa Cameron MP chairs Round Table on Business Networks at The Shard

Disability Rights UK and Disability@Work “Business Networks” round table event on 7th December 2017 sought to promote the recommendations in the ‘Business Networks’ and ‘Self-Employment’ chapters of the Ahead of the Arc report. The discussion focused on the gaps in support for disabled entrepreneurs as identified in the report, and on current support and opportunities offered to disabled entrepreneurs to connect to their peers. The discussion then addressed how support might be enhanced. The Association of Disabled Professionals (ADP) demonstrated the value of specialist advice from Disabled people user led organisations (DPULOs) to enhance support for inclusion. Participants, including the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the Institute of Directors (IoD), the Inclusive Entrepreneurs Global Network and The Home Builders Federation, agreed on the value of the discussion and are keen to continue dialogue and provide feedback on their progress.
